Winning Strategies in Real Estate: Press On - Persistence

Press On - Persistence

Wayne Martin's earlier post on persistence inspired me to re-read  and post here this framed quote of President Calvin Coolidge that I've had hanging in my office for years.  I am sure you have seen it before.

Press On

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.

Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.

Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.

Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

Along with persistence must some some focus or goal.  Persistently doing the wrong things will get you wrong things.  Isn't the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.  Seems here in Boston the only thing persistent in January is more feet of snow....I will persistently keep it off my driveway and walkways.  Today is another day of shoveling so many ways. Thanks for your post.

Thanks for giving us all a boost of motivation this morning!  Persistence must be my middle name because that is what keeps me going every moment.

Tony ~ I don't know how one would survive in our industry without being persistent.

I think I have a memory of that some long time ago...I like it!  I use the word "persevere" more often than persistent, because, at least for me, it has a more positive feel.  When I looked the two words up, they are used in the definitions of each other, but the example sentence used "persistent cough" ... I like to think that I am more perseverent than persistent! =o)

I think this is the most important characteristic there is Tony. Nothing can beat it.
